Shoot No.8 Work Diary

This was a practice shoot for my exam. I dropped a apple into a fish tank full of water and captures it as it hit the water. I used a black background as it created a good contrast between the still water and the water that has been hit by the apple.

In my first photograph, i captured the apple as it just hit the water. This meant that more splashed water could be seen in the top part of the composition. The black background helped the water to standout more as it created more of a contrast opposed to a white background. By sharpening the photograph, it also helped to define the waters outline and make it stand out more than it did before
In my second photograph, i captured the apple as it went under the water, The water appears to shape around the apple to which creates a wave looking shape. Again the black background helps a lot to make sure the water standout. By sharpening the photograph, it also helped to define the waters outline and make it stand out more than it did before.

If i was to continue with the shoot i would like to experiment with different fruits and vegetables to see which ones standout the most against the black background and the water. I would also like to try more than one object at a time to see if it make the photograph more colorful and interesting.
