In this lesson i did a shoot of someone flicking their hair side to side and up and down. I wanted to capture the hair in the middle of the motion. I used a brown background to match the tones of the models hair.
This first photograph, i feel was my most successful from this shoot as i like the way that the model was in the centre of the composition and the way in which her hair shaped around her face as it flicks into the air. I made the corners of this photograph a darker shade as i wanted the focus to be on the model therefore this creates a faint oval around her. Natural colour can be seen throughout the photograph therefore it makes it seem un-posed and natural. Also due to all of the models hair being sharp and in focus, it almost looks as if the models hair has been frozen during a motion and that it naturally stand up like this.
This is my second photograph. In this photograph i wanted to capture the model flicking her hair from side to side apposed to up and down. In many photographs the models face could not be seen however this was one of my favorite. I liked the way in which the models hair has been captured on both sides of the composition therefore giving it a even balance.I again added the darkened edges to illuminate the model and make her the main focus of the photograph. It also shaped around the models hair creating a outline.
If i was to continue with the shoot i would like to experiment with other colour hairs to see which background complemented them the most. I would also like to try and capture the motion in the different stages to then edit into a grid.
